Mobile First

If your site does not work on a phone, it does not work

More than 60% of Google searches happen on mobile. For local service businesses it is probably higher than that. Someone has a clogged drain at 10pm. They are not sitting at a desktop computer. They are on their phone.

What Matters on Mobile

  • Clickable phone number. When someone taps your phone number, it should call you. Not open a new page. Not copy text to clipboard. Call you.
  • Fast load time. If your site takes more than 3 seconds to load on a phone, half your visitors are gone. They already clicked the next result.
  • Readable text without zooming. If people have to pinch and zoom to read your content, the font is too small or the layout is not responsive.
  • Easy navigation. Three to four menu items maximum. Home, Services, About, Contact. That is it.
  • No popups. Nothing is worse on mobile than a popup that covers the screen and the X button is too small to tap.

Lovable builds mobile-responsive sites by default. You do not have to do anything special. But you should still check it on your own phone before going live.

Test It Yourself

Pull up your current site on your phone right now. Try to find your phone number and tap it. Try to read the text on the services page without zooming. Load it on cell data instead of WiFi. If any of those things are painful, your site is losing you customers.

On our call I will show you exactly what your site looks like on mobile and make sure it works right.
