Hey, have you ever been on a website and been asked to decode a twisted word, do a math problem, or identify a picture with a bus in it? That’s a CAPTCHA, short for Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart. It’s a way for website owners to make sure you’re a human and not a bot trying to do something shady.  Just a couple of things they can help with:

  •  Spam coming in from a contact form
  • Brute force attacks: Bots can be used to repeatedly try to guess login credentials for customer accounts.
  • Fraud: Bots can be used to commit fraud in your store, such as creating fake accounts or making unauthorized purchases.
